For vivacious adorable Lily - 10/11/09 : "Lily Anderson is a vivacious, happy eight-year-old. On September, 10th 2009 Lily was diagnosed with Advanced Neuroblastoma Cancer Stage 4. Treatment will continue for a year and a half. This will be a tough financial burden for her parents, but their determination to find a cure is boundless".

On Sunday October 11th Friends & neighbors organized Lily's Run for Hope, to help the Andersons with their journey. Hundreds joined in at Vickery Village for the great event and a day of fun to help raise money for Lily and her family and the long battle they face in the days ahead.

Alpharetta Scarecrow Harvest : The City of Alpharetta invited teachers and students from local elementary schools to celebrate the spirit of the fall season by creating a scarecrow for the 4th Annual Scarecrow Harvest. A colorful hit with the community, the scarecrows from schools are on display on Main Street (SR 9) in Historic Downtown Alpharetta. Awards were given to classrooms for Most Creative, Best Constructed, Best Personality and SchCOOLEST (school with the most participating classrooms) Scarecrows. The latter was won by Cogburn Wood Elementary who created the most scarecrows with a total of 17!

Old Soldiers Day Parade - Alpharetta : The City of Alpharetta and the American Legion Post 201 held the 57th Annual Old Soldiers Day Parade Saturday August 1st. "The Old Soldiers Day Parade began years ago as a tribute to veterans of the war between the states, but was discontinued after a few years.Twenty–eight years later, in 1952, a small group of men in Alpharetta re-dedicated Old Soldiers Day Parade in Alpharetta and started having a parade through downtown Alpharetta. Thanks to these few men and their belief in keeping this memorable tradition alive, this parade has become an annual celebration to all veterans of all wars.; this year marking 54 years". - City Of Alpharetta Website
